"This is a good summary of plant reproduction. “Makeup” is not hyphenated. Two consecutive sentences start with “An example ….” These can be combined, e.g., “Examples include: 1) ….” The first paragraph ends with a confusing sentence; “and place it” should be deleted. The sentence ending the third paragraph can be simplified: “Plants such as corn have …, while others, like spinach, do not.” In the fourth paragraph, we have a comma splice (not the only one), which is the separation by a comma of what should be two sentences. Note also that “to” should be deleted, and the next sentence needs the article “a.” Later, “on” should be “one.” Elements of the list of haploid nuclei must have the same form; hence we write “one egg nucleus” or “an egg nucleus.” The phrase “a little FYI for you” is informal; the student could instead write “Note that many fruits ….” A sentence on page 2 runs two thoughts together. A semicolon should be used to link them. “Germination” is erroneously capitalized in the last paragraph."
