"It's clear from this draft that you've spent time with the details of the story, working with the text and dialogue to understand what's happening in the plot and between the two characters. Because of the inconsistent formatting and repeated plot summary, I am having a little trouble determining the purpose of the essay (or if this is two separate responses or sections). I notice that the first part summarizes the plot and analyzes the symbolism; the second seems to respond to a question of what you think the woman will decide. Does this sound like the goal(s) for this essay, per the prompt? If so, impose a clear thesis statement that helps signpost these two tasks, and go through and trim repeated information, such as when you reiterate the plot starting with "basically it is a conversation between..."; similarly, the second half of the essay meanders or repeats information -- tighten up the discussion so the reader is guided more assertively through the argumentation. Correcting punctuation to eliminate comma splices will also help in organizing the way the ideas are presented to the reader."
