I chose to go attend the live performance at the Van Dyke Caf on Lincoln road because it seemed like a nice get away from my everyday routine When I arrived at Van Dyke Caf and went up stairs the musicians were already there and just about ready to start The setting of the place was very nice and comfortable it was dim and cozy It being nice and cozy I was able to relax and get into a nice mood and get ready to take in the performance The style of music that was performed at Van Dyke Caf was contemporary fusion of Afro- Cuban Jazz Rumba and Guaguanco Right off the bat I noticed the group was wearing similar attire all the way around The Group Iresound matched one another by wearing dark shade of clothing Iresound was a rhythm section band it was complete with one chord instrument which was the piano one bass instrument which was the electric guitar one percussion instrument which was a set of drums and then also had its brass instrument which was playing a trumpet One of the things that stood out to me mostly was that each member of the band was its own individual character how my professor had mentioned in class For instance the Guitar player was more laid back person with the long puffy hair look he seemed down to earth also didnt seem too into himself and seemed like he wouldnt shower as often as the others in other words he seemed a bit dirty Similarly the pianist was similar to the guitarist he also carried the appearance of the long hair laid back kind of guy What stood out tremendously about the pianist was that he often over powered the rest of the members instead of trying to be at an equal level of pitch to its members so the form could sound close to
