The Womens Liberation Movement was the biggest change in the 20th Century Historical events have shaped our world to create the societies we exist in today People like the Greeks Romans and English have had immeasurable impacts on the way we comprehend rationalize analyze and respond to events There are events in history that alter the state of being either for the good or for the bad The Womens Liberation movement was a cultural and social as well as political and economical change Imagine that you are a woman in the 1950s You have been denied your basic rights trapped inside the home for life and then to top it off youre discriminated against in the workplace But then the 1960s came along with the thought that women could have a say in government that they could perhaps leave the home without feeling guilty about leaving their children alone and that maybe they could receive a job and earn wages just the same as men Changes occurred at varying rates in different periods of time and different places as a result of forces and influences Since early times women have been uniquely viewed as a creative source of human life Historically however they have also been considered not only intellectually inferior to men but also a major source of temptation and evilness In Greek mythology for example it was a women Pandora who opened the forbidden box and brought plagues and unhappiness upon mankind Early Roman law also classed women as children forever inferior to men Traditional religions were a major influence on womens lives always a negative influence discouraging any change and more likely than not preaching myths that women were disabled or inferior to men With the spread of Islam from 900 AD to 1500 AD womens roles were reduced to a protected mother sister or wife within the home In essence the man would have control over the
