Imagine being in a car driving down the highway Suddenly a car swerves up and around As the car continues down the road one can picture the swerving taillights In this type of situation one must ask themselves if the police should be called Generally the answer would be no because one feels that someone else will call the police and handle the situation This is called the bystander effect As the highway continues winding a driver will pass and see the same car this time on the side of the road Along with that car there is a totaled minivan that was a family vehicle What does it take for people to serve justice to one another What does it take to wave the red flag People are made to adapt and most often they will forget such instances However what happens when millions are killed and there is no law in place to punish those who have done wrong The trials that took place in Nuremberg Germany answered that very question This is when it is okay to wave that red flag To help give justice to those who have done wrong Looking at the Nuremberg trials and transitional justice it can be seen that those prosecuted had a grave impact on society while the trials have continued to have a positive one Transitional justice is a philosophical theory or law The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy says that transitional justice includes three areas The philosophical legal and political investigation post war Transitional Justice 1 This is asking how society transitions and how it made better To put it simply transitional justices purpose is to cope with new situations The law against drunk driving was not made until someone driving under the influence caused harm to another The law against murder was not always existent It took someone to murder first just like it first took someone to cause a genocide before there could
