Get up Youre gonna miss the bus if you dont get up this very second young man Jasmine towered over her sons bed waiting for him to get up getting more impatient by the second Around her was a plethora of toys lying around on the floor waiting to get played with The walls were decorated with paintings of dinosaurs and aliens Scattered around the floor were dainty Lego pieces and Crayola crayons Finally Tyrees rose from his bed fighting off the urge to jump back into his bed Mom I think I have a feverI am not buying into any of your acts I have far too much experience being a mom to fall for that one I want you to get dressed quickly before you miss the bus again Tyrees walked sluggishly into the bathroom as his mom descended down the stairs After hastily brushing on his teeth and putting on the first clothes he found Tyrees sat down to eat a large bowl of Froot Loops with milk Just as he finished his cereal the bus which was more like a van pulled in front of his house Tyrees slowly walked out of the door and onto the bus where he took the last seat in the back of the miniature bus The whole ride to school he silently sat in his seat isolated from the chatter of his classmates Once the bus reached the school Tyrees waited for everyone to get off the bus and then jumped onto the sidewalk On his way to the large double doors in the front of the building Tyrees jumped in the puddles left from the thunderstorm from the previous night By the time he entered the building his socks were soaked with water He turned right and left until he reached a large room with a wooden floor On the ceiling basketball hoops had been folded to keep them out of the way
