Friendships in the Real World Entering the working world can be a scary thing to do We all tend to cling to the things that we know and feel comfortable doing and ignore the things that we do not want to know about To go out into a world that you know little about is not that easy to do This is what Ehrenreich did she went out into the world of low wageworkers and poverty Ehrenreich is a writer who gets an assignment to see what it is like to live in poverty on minimum wage today During her project she traveled to different states and with each state came a new adventure She would have to find housing and a job somewhere making enough money to at the very least just survive day to day During her project Ehrenreich was a Wal-Mart worker maid and a waitress Along the way she would become close to a few of her co-workers She had not planned on doing anything of the sort but as time went on it became evident that she would need to open up just a little to be able to cope with the daily stressors of the job she had at hand Who better to open up to then someone who was on the same position that she was working the daily grind of the same old routine day after day and never seeing relief or even much of a reward from all of their hard work During her project Ehrenreich was a Wal-Mart worker maid and a waitress Each experience very different from the last but still had the commonality of all being a stressful job to have This is what Ehrenreich did she went out into the world of low wageworkers and poverty She went out into a world she knew little about and did the best job she could with what she knew and how she dealt
