How did US get all this power What makes the US think that they could just proceed into a country and do what they want Who gave them this power anyways Well Im pretty sure that these are the questions that run through your minds each day after you hear news about the US intervening in other countries Basically it all started after World War Two when the US and the Soviet Union got into The Cold War a time period when these two nations major struggle was to accumulate the title of world supremacy When the Soviet Union collapsed from a disintegrated economy in 1991 the US was declared the worlds superpower After the US gained this title they used this power for their own selfish and greedy needs During the Cold War the US was selfish and greedy because they attempted to overthrow the Cuban regime by establishing the Bay of Pigs Invasion The Bay of Pigs Invasion was a US planned and funded landing by armed Cuban exiles on Southern Cuba in an attempt to overthrow the Cuban socialist regime Additionally the US also wanted to assassinate Castro the leader of Cuba after he declared himself a communist and after he developed close relations to the Soviet Union which was a nation that had conflict with the US The US saw this as a threat and they acted instantly After the invasion in Cuba the US continued to go on the same path that they were on many years ago The US was still selfish and greedy because the US was meddling in Afghanistans business For example the US invaded Afghanistan on October 7 2001 in response to the terrorist attacks on September 9 2001 The US had hopes of diminishing the Al-Qaeda terrorist group which was the group that had planned the attacks on US The nineteen Al-Qaeda members deliberately crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center
