Leaving home for college the first time is exciting and scary Its exciting because you are on your own for the first time with no one to set curfews no one to tell you to do your homework and no one to tell you to clean your room However its also scary because you are responsible for yourself For a while you are wandering between two worlds the world of home and adolescence and the world of college and adulthood As for the social life it is a huge part of college life Everyone goes to frat parties but contrary to popular belief everyone does not drink People hang out in dorms a lot but agreed that there are no party dorms at all defeating the real reason for some of the students to come to a university rather than a county college My social life now involves a lot of studying preferably then the ideal partying Usually I socialize on the weekends more than during the week To me school is a down time and I can relax and get my school work done My weekends include going home and spending time with my friends and boyfriend There is a lot that goes on on campus but I am not the type that joins those social groups I dont really enjoy living here at all and next year I am probably living home When it comes to weekend life on campus an overwhelming majority of students dont stay on campus for the weekend there is nothing to do and the activities that are here seem to be geared only to Greeks Our school is primarily known as a suitcase college This label was given by the residents because the students pack up and go home for the weekends The commuters believe otherwise they think the campus is lively on weekends with plenty to do but they dont live here
