What one might think of as a typical childhood game Hide andGo SeekWhat 5 girls and a boy think of as a typical childhood gameDressing uplike prairie folk riding down the street in a wagonand occasionally lighting small warming fires in the backyardThis is only a snippet of how me along with my five sistersLihla Camille Madeline and Nellie and my brother Elias spenta casual summer day It wasnt fun unless we got to eat outsiderun around in bonnets having tea parties or if someone gothurt Because who doesnt laugh when a log falls on theirsisters legI grew up in a small town snug in the Rocky Mountains ofColorado Acounty so Grand we had around 12000 residents andunder 400 students at the high school Our neighbors were farand few between from the start but as I grew older I noticedour slim neighborhood attendance shrinking smaller and smallerIt could have been the horrible economy but I am stillconvinced because of older siblings wise words that they allmoved away because they were sick of watching hobos thatwould be 6 kids in unbelievably dirty grub run the street withtheir pet fish in a bucket and slopping cow pies made of dirtand water into the center of the vacant back road As we grewup my three older sisters played less and less with the youngerthree and eventually my brother and I became a quite inseparablepair I was nothing close to agirly-girl a trait 3 out of 4sisters could fit the bill for so instead of applying make upand curling my hair I would be out back chopping down treesand building makeshift cabins We would skip lunch and stay outway beyond dark doing crazy completely stupid things likebaiting bears with lunch meat or as stated before riding wagonsdown a large hill just down the road My brother although over5 years younger could be what I consider a mentor It startedout with him helping me pick out my clothes then eventuallyturned
