A trip to the beach a chance to go to a new city or town and learn about a different history a time to get to know a friend better time to make memories with a child or spouse or even just sit back and read a good book get a spa treatment catch up on a TV show or sleep These simple examples are things that people do on vacation These are some of the reasons that people live for some of the humanistic events that allow daily workers to create an equilibrium of mental physical and emotional health These occasions are however very difficult to currently utilize in the United States due to the 24hour businesses and capitalistic society that is present With a national law of only two weeks paid vacation time per year it is difficult for employees to have a chance to take part in these events In many cases these two paid weeks is not ever used for vacation but merely as sick days or days to help elderly parents sick children or the individual themselves with personal dilemmas such as injuries By law of the European Union employees are allowed a minimum of 4 weeks paid vacation time which is extremely beneficial to its workers It is imperative in many cases that workers get a substantial amount of vacation time in order to stay healthy relieve stress and ultimately take a necessary break from working In the United States in order to protect the mental physical and emotional health of its employees it is essential and beneficial to increase the national paid vacation time that is currently in place The issue of extended vacation time has been discussed in the past but is becoming an increasingly larger issue due to new discoveries that less vacation time causes employees to have health problems and other stressors In trying to understand the need for increased vacation time it is
