As you growolder and wiser as I may add would you believe me if I told you our booksmay not beall theyre cracked upto be In other words Everything is not what it seems Whenever students talk about their subjects in school history is often perceived as among the most boring of subjects Probably the mainreason whyHistoryhas been consideredas a boring subject is because of the traditional ways on how itis being taughtin class Typically an instructor would just stand in front of all the students and start reciting all the details of thetopics-all those dates places names of prominent people and events thatappearto bevery difficult to memorize Throughout all my school years in essence elementary middle or high I have found the history lessons taught in our schoolsto besomewhat lacking are the facts Therefore I do not find history boring but rather annoying Even at an early age as in elementary school I began to question the lessons my teachers had taught us in school During the historyportionof my elementary school days I learned about as probably everyone did the discovery of our very own country the great United States of America Remember this old phrase in 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue Well prepare to think differently The Vikings had been the true discoverers - all along This event had happened nearly five centuries earlier -thats500 years Way before Christopher Columbus-waseven born So at this point Iwas amazed- shocked even Since that was such a huge difference Even Christopher Columbus didnt even know if he really had discovered America Until the day he had died Columbus had still believed he had discovered the Northwest Passage In other words Christopher Columbus really did sail the ocean blue - in 1492 He just never went to America The famed explorer had just really taken all the credit And
