Bridget's feedback:
"This is a solidly argued essay that shows good control of the text, including its language, themes, characters, and ideas. The discussion proceeds logically and clearly, guiding the reader through the evidence toward the conclusion. My first comment is that the quotations are missing citations, which has a major impact on ethos, including in terms of assessing facility with the style guide. Make sure to incorporate this information to establish your work with the text and your role in facilitating the audience's interaction with the wider conversation around the work: act, scene, and line info helps the reader who wants to dig deeper into the evidence you've helped them understand.
My second comment is regarding the writing, which overall shows sound mechanics and takes advantage of a clear and appropriate style and diction. I do, however, notice frequent unnecessary use of the passive voice that tends to overcomplicate the syntax. I recommend spending some time revising at the level of phrase and syntax with the goal of streamlining. It's clear you are a strong writer, so this task is about refining your style and presentation."
