Sharing your writing can be nerve-wracking! Having come up through the MFA workshop system, I know the value of working with the writing--not against it.

A quick note about direct requests: I love getting to know a writer's voice across multiple projects! I do my best to accept all such requests, and in the rare event that I might miss you, I hope you keep me in mind for your next project!

More About Bridget

In what subject areas are you an expert?

My background is in the humanities (history, literature, writing, and rhetoric and composition).

What types of documents do you enjoy editing the most?

My philosophy is to meet your writing on its own terms. This means letting the writing teach me how best to interact with your voice, style, and prose to facilitate the argumentation, structure, and the demands of the project. I also love helping streamline a piece of writing at the macro- and microlevels to hit a word count--it's like the writer's Sudoku.

I have frequently taught and worked with ESL and ELL students. As a native English speaker who grew up in spaces with non-native English speakers, I seek to create comfortable editing experiences for writers coming to English as a second (or third!) language.

What do you do when you’re not editing on Kibin?

Reading, cooking, watching old movies, hanging with my kids.
