More About Bridget

Sharing your writing can be nerve-wracking! Having come up through the MFA workshop system, I know the value of working *with* the writing--not against it.

A quick note about direct requests: I love getting to know a writer's voice across multiple projects! I do my best to accept all such requests, and in the rare event that I might miss you, I hope you keep me in mind for your next project!

What types of documents do you enjoy editing the most?

I get excited about any type of document! My goal is to meet your writing on its own terms. This means letting the writing teach me how to interact and work with the voice, the style, the prose, the argumentation, and the structure.

I have frequently taught and worked with ESL and ELL students. I am a native English speaker who grew up in spaces with non-native English speakers, and I seek to create comfortable editing experiences for writers coming to English as a second (or third!) language.

In what subject areas are you an expert?

I love being exposed to new ideas and subjects by a paper I am working with! My background is in the humanities (history and literature). I have taught Composition and Rhetoric at the university level, and I have worked extensively with nursing students' papers in particular.

What do you do when you’re not editing on Kibin?

Reading, cooking & baking bread, watching old movies, hanging with my kids.
